ROCKSPRINGS, Ohio — Its not always how you start, but how you finish.
The Meigs volleyball team won Thursday night’s opening game 25-23, before dropping games 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21 to Tri-Valley Conference Ohio division foe Nelsonville-York, in Larry R. Morrison Gymnasium.
Meigs (8-13, 3-7 TVC Ohio) was led by Olivia Cremeans with nine kills, followed by Brook Andrus and Aly Dettwiller with five apiece. Devyn Oliver marked two kills, while Ariel Ellis and Hannah Cremeans each marked one in the setback. Ellis had a team-best 13 assists in the match, while Oliver accounted for the Lady Marauders other 10 assists.
Dettwiller finished with night five service aces, Oliver had three, while Ellis, Andrus and Olivia Cremeans each had one ace. Olivia Cremeans led the defense with two blocks, while Andrus had one. Andrus and Oliver each had a dig in the loss.
The Lady Marauders celebrated senior night Thursday, honoring Olivia Cremeans and Aly Dettwiller before the game.
Meigs also lost to the Lady Buckeyes on September 19, in Nelsonville.
