The old smoke stack at the east end of the Village of Pomeroy is on its way down. The stack was part of a dye plant estimated to have been built in the mid to late 1800s according to Steve Pullins of Pullins Excavation who is completing the work. The stack, which stood 125 feet in the air, was down to around 70 feet tall on Wednesday afternoon.
