Dorothy Mae Evans, 93, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away on August 20, 2012, at Rocksprings Nursing Center. She was born on July 25, 1919, in Middleport daughter of the late George Allen Higginbotham and Mattie Bell Pickens Higginbotham.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Pam (Dennis) Wolfe of Syracuse, Ohio, Christy Jones of Pomeroy, and Jay (Debbie) Evans of Pomeroy; great-grandchildren, Amber Blackston, Jorden and J.T. Evans; great-great-grandchildren, Reilly and Beckham Veon; daughter-in-law, Ann Werry of Pomeroy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil F. Evans, and son, James Frederick Evans Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport, Ohio. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends and family visitation will be from 1-2: p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
