MEIGS COUNTY — The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office made several arrests in recent days.

Charles Ransom, Dillon Parsley Jr., Danny Morgan, Thomas A. Allen and Jesse Partlow were arrested earlier this week according to Meigs County Sheriff Robert Beegle.

Ransom, 32, of Syracuse was charged with domestic violence. He is currently being held on $5,000 bond with 10 percent permitted.

Allen, 25, of Syracuse was arrested on a charge of grand theft. The charge results from the theft of copper from the Shelly Company Sand Plant in Letart. Allen is also charged with breaking and entering of the buildings at the plant.

According to Beegle, charges are pending against other individuals implicated in the case.

Allen is also being held on a probation violation from Meigs County Common Pleas Court. According to court records, the original charges in common pleas court were possession and trafficking.

Partlow, 23, of Langsville, was arrested on a 2011 indictment from Meigs County Common Pleas Court. The indictment charged one count of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of illegal assembly of possession of drugs for manufacturing.

Partlow appeared in Common Pleas Court and entered a not guilty plea. He was released on his own recognizance pending further court hearings.

Parsley, 19, of Pomeroy is being held on an assault charge.

Morgan, 27, of Albany is being held on an Order to Hold from the State Probation Officer.

The Sheriff’s Office is also investigating two cases of theft in the eastern part of the county.

On Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report that a hunting cabin on a property near Forked Run Lake had been entered and a couple of tool boxes were taken. It was noticed later that tracks in the grass indicated that someone had come back onto the property and stolen scrap metal and old sheet tin. The property is owned by Donald McKee of Groveport.

It was reported earlier this week by William Putnam, of Marietta, that he had a service rig on the Shade River Forest land and someone had stolen six batteries and a radiator from it.

The investigation into both cases is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office.
