Any homeowner who is or will be 65 years of age in 2013 or older or those who are permanently disabled regardless of income my apply. The deadline for applying will be June 3, 2013.

Byer-Hill said that the exemption, which takes the form of a tax credit on property tax bills, allows qualifying homeowners of real estate and manufactured homes to exempt $25,000 of the market value of their homes from property taxes. Those who are currently on the program do not need to reapply, she said.
