Dear Editor:
I’m a senior attending the new Gallia Academy High School. To be honest I thought lunch was going to be a better experience, having cheaper food and having more time to actually enjoy our meal considering that there are two lunches.
But my guess was wrong. The food in the new school is less appetizing yet more expensive.
The first couple weeks of school everyone had plenty of time to eat, but now the administrators are patrolling the entrance allowing no more than 10 students in the line at a time, causing students to rush. I understand that some students are stealing food but I don’t think that everyone should have to suffer from other people’s actions, and quite frankly if the food was cheaper we wouldn’t have a problem with appropriating.
Another issue I would like to discuss is the shortage of food halfway through second lunch. I know firsthand what it feels like to be at school expecting to get lunch and when you finally get through the line there’s nothing left. For example, one day I waited through the line and when I got through there was nothing and the lunch lady said to me and a few other people “we have sausages but no buns.” I didn’t know what to think but I ended up waiting until I got home to eat.
These are just a few of my concerns I feel that need to be brought to attention.
