Holzer honors area chaplains, services

GALLIPOLIS — Holzer recently hosted its annual Chaplain Meeting and Education Event at the Gallipolis Medical Center.

The Holzer Chaplaincy Department consists of 28 chaplains from a four-county area, with more than 348 years of experience with chaplaincy services. During the program, Alfred Holley and Bob Davis were recognized for 40 years of service to Holzer Chaplaincy Department.

The event was held during Pastoral Care Week, which was recognized Oct. 25-31. The theme, “Spiritual Care Together” recognizes all health care disciplines in providing optimal healing fo the whole person. Chaplains specifically provide spiritual assessment and compassionate support for healing.

Holzer chaplains include: Gallia County – Ron Bynum, Anne Cappelletti, Leslie Flemming, Alfred Holley, Bob Hood, John Jackson, Heath Jenkins, Kandy Nuce, John O’Brien, Patrick O’Donnell, Bob Powell, Vickie Swanson, Ed Valentine, and Paul Voss.

Jackson County – Bob Anderson, Bob Davis, Diana Devlin, Stan Howard, Jane Karl, David Kelly, Donna Lyons, Beverly Morris, John Rozewicz, and Nelson Sharp.

Mason County – Glenn Rowe and Neil Tennant.

Meigs County – James Acree and Gary Ellis.

In addition, chaplain assistants are Susan Hollback and Vinton Rankin.

Holzer Chaplaincy Services provide routine pastoral visitation for patients and residents in each Holzer facility. All Chaplain Services are provided upon request and are free.
