POMEROY — A failure to yield at a stop sign resulted in a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon in Pomeroy.

The crash took place between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Union Avenue and State Route 7, according to the Gallia-Meigs Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to OSHP, Darrell Thomas, 72, of Langsville, failed to stop his green 2001 Chevy Venture at the stop sign before turning left onto State Route 7 from Union Avenue. This failure caused Jennifer Smith, 53, of Pomeroy, to hit Thomas’ vehicle with her tan 2005 Chevy Malibu.

Neither person was injured and both were wearing seat belts. Thomas received a ticket for alleged failure to yield.
