Ohio Pug Rescue (www.ohiopugrescue.com) proudly announces the Ninth Annual Santa In September Fundraiser and Rescue Networking event! This year’s Santa in September will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Whitehall Community Park at 402 N. Hamilton Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43213 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Rain or shine! Admission is a $1.00 donation per person over 12; children under 12 are free. Admission is free for firefighters, police officers and active members of the armed services. The highlight of the day will, of course, be Santa Claus himself, available from 1:00 to 4:00 pm for pictures with pets. Pictures with Santa are $5.00 each. Hot dogs, cold soft drinks, and home-made baked goodies will be available at the concession stand, and the raffle table will be loaded with treasures. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or six for $5.00. Buy your raffle tickets then settle in to watch the pugs compete in the agility course, pugtona race, or pug tricks contests. There are games and contests for other pets and for humans too! All money made at Santa in September will go to benefit the pugs of Ohio Pug Rescue, and other rescues will be on hand to provide information, bringing other breeds (and species!) of critters to meet and greet the humans. All pets are welcome and should be safely leashed or otherwise contained while they are in the park. This is an alcohol-free, drug-free, family-friendly event and a sponsored Purina Rally-to-Rescue ® Event. Ohio Pug Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit all-volunteer organization (id 31-1748269) operating a surrender, foster care, and placement program for all Pugs in Ohio - no matter their age, condition, or health. Before adoption proceedings begin, all rescue Pugs are taken to a certified veterinarian for a general exam, and, when necessary, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, receive a rabies shot, are heartworm tested, microchipped for identification, and have any other medical needs met in order to ensure the Pug's best health when it goes to its adoptive home.
