POMEROY – Students at Meigs High School were dismissed soon after arriving at the school Tuesday morning when a bomb threat came in on voice mail.

Sheriff Bob Beegle reported that a deputy went to the school, that no bomb was found, and that there was no reason to call either the fire department or the bomb squad to the scene.

The threat came in about 7:30 a.m., the school was vacated by 8 a.m. and students were transported home soon after.

Neither Principal Steve Ohlinger nor Superintendent Rusty Bookman were available for comment on the situation.
