David Lloyd Sheets, 61, of Reedsville, Ohio, died suddenly at his home on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009.

He was born June 6, 1948, in Dexter, Ohio, to the late Ezra and Frances Hall Sheets.

“Dave” as everyone knew him was a retired carpenter for Local 356 of Marietta, Ohio, and Local 650 of Pomeroy, Ohio, an Orange Township Trustee, and a former deputy for the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and “Pa Pa” to his three angels. He loved farming, hunting, and most of all helping others.

He is survived by his soul mate and wife of 37 Years, Mary (Carleton) Sheets; daughters, Mandi (Chad) Roberts of Chester, Betsy (Kevin) Fields of Pomeroy, Carrie (Mike Jarvis) Sheets of the home; his 3 little angels, Kelsey Laine Roberts, Maycee Calyn Fields, Adyson Breann Fields.

Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Frances Carleton of Pomeroy; brothers, Jim Sheets and John Sheets of Reedsville; sister, Delilah (Eddie) Ritchie of Pomeroy; brothers-in-law, Jim and Connie Carleton of Pomeroy, Mike and Candy Carleton of Coolville; sisters-in-law, Sandra and Jeff Needs of Pomeroy, Sally and Buddy Ervin of Racine, Jean VanMeter of Pomeroy; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Frances Sheets, father-in-law, Harry Carleton; brother, Don; sister, Sandra Wrikeman.

Services will be held at 11 a.m.. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Officiating will be Rev. Arland King. Burial will be in South Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
