BIDWELL, Ohio — The River Valley High School wrestling squad swept a host triangular match on Thursday night, defeating the Eastern Eagles 60-6 and the Jackson Ironmen 33-21.
Against the Ironmen, the Raiders won six matches, including five for six points apiece and a three-point decision.
River Valley’s Eric Weber pinned Jackson’s Garrett Daily at 170 pounds, while Tyler Ward did the same to the Ironmen’s Ben Daily at 195.
In the most competitive match, the Raiders’ George Williams — at 152 pounds — decisioned Jackson senior Tyler Storms 8-7.
The Raiders’ three forfeit wins were Jacob Edwards at 113, Cole Franklin at 126 and Noah Jenkins at 182.
The Ironmen amassed four victories, including a pair of six-point pinfall wins by Caleb Storms at 145 and Zayne Warrens at 160.
Jackson’s Kyle Kirby captured a 6-4 decision over River Valley’s Jeremiah Dobbins at 132.
David Moore of the Ironmen won via forfeit at 138.
There were four double forfeits — at 106, 120, 220 and at heavyweight.
The Raiders rolled the Eagles 60-6, with Eastern’s only win being a Jessie Morris pinfall at 182.
River Valley won 10 total matches, including three pinfalls (Ward at 195, Dobbins at 138 and Robert Drummond at heavyweight) and seven forfeits (Dakota Doss at 220, Nathan Michael at 160, Grant Gilmore at 145, Weber at 170, Edwards at 113, Franklin at 126 and Williams at 152).
The Ironmen won over Eastern 36-9 in the other match, scoring six six-point wins with four of those being forfeits (Brennen Green at 132, Caleb Storms at 145, Tyler Storms at 152 and Warrens at 160).
Kirby pinned Eastern’s Caden Goff in a minute and 25 seconds in the opening period at 138, while Ben Daily pinned Sam Jones with nine seconds remaining in the first period at 195.
The Eagles’ only wins were heavyweight Brandon Colburn pinning Daniel Case at the end of the first period, as Morris deicisioned Garrett Daily 8-7 at 182.
There were six double forfeits — at 106, 113, 120, 126, 170 and 220.
