It looks like spring is just around the corner, and one of my favorite signs of spring is seeing all the 4-H clubs having their organizational meetings!
If you haven’t enrolled your child in 4-H there is still time. April 1 is the enrollment deadline for children who wish to join 4-H and take projects to the Gallia County Junior Fair. If you need help locating a 4-H club near you, please call 740-446-7007 and we would be glad to help you find a club to join. You can also follow all of our Gallia County 4-H updates by liking our face book page “OSU Extension Gallia County” or you may e-mail green.84@osu.edu and request to be added to our e-mail updates list serve.
Kicking off the 2012 4-H season, we will be offering a special grant-funded training for our 4-H advisors and a 4-H Officer Training for club officers. Both trainings will be held on April 3, at the Buckeye Hills Career Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend the trainings, but pre-registration is required.
Please register by March 16 by calling 740-446-7007. All 4-H clubs represented by at least one club advisor, will receive a free “Making the Best 4-H Club Better 20 Minutes at a Time” curriculum which is filled with 20-minute lessons for club advisors to do with their clubs. Not only will the clubs get the curriculum but each club will also receive a free kit of materials needed to perform all the lessons in the book.
Hurry — space and kits are limited, so RSVP now to reserve your spot!
