The price for season tickets which are sold only to individuals and not to a company or organization is $15. The tickets give gate admission to the fair, free parking all week long, and entertainment and shows, but not amusement rides.
Membership tickets which entitle holders to admission and voting privileges are $16 and may be purchased from any Fair Board member or the Meigs County Extension Office, Memorial Drive, Pomeroy.
Season tickets may be purchased at Baum Lumber Co., Chester; King Hardware, Middleport; Swisher-Lohse Pharmacy, Pomeroy, Gloeckner’s Restaurant, Pomeroy; Darwin Grocery, Route 681 at Darwin; B&R Market, Syracuse; Taz’s Marathon, S.R. 7, Pomeroy; the OSU Extension-Meigs County Office, Pomeroy; Reed’s Country Store at Reedsville; Dettwiller Lumber Co. Pomeroy; Hill’s Citgo, Racine; Rutland Department Store, Rutland; By the Way Country Store at Langsville; Farmers Bank at Pomeroy and Tuppers Plains, and McDonald’s of Pomeroy.
Tickets for daily admission to the fair are $7, Monday through Thursday, and $8 Friday and Saturday. Children under two years old are admitted free at the gates, but must pay to ride. The daily admission tickets include all entertainment and shows as well as the amusement rides. For those holding membership, season, or 4-H tickets, there will be an additional charge of $5 for rides.
As in previous years Senior Citizen’s Day will be observed on Thursday and seniors will be admitted to the fairgrounds free until 2 p.m. with a Golden Buckeye Card.
On kid’s days, Tuesday and Saturday, children 12 and under will be admitted free until noon. A handstamp giving children rides for the day costs $5.
The rides will operate on a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 11 p.m. and Tuesday and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. and 6 to 11 p.m.
Reserved parking in specified areas is being offered for $25 for the week. The parking cost does not include admission onto the grounds. As for camping spaces, the cost is $150 for trailers, tents and campers for one week. The pay time and spot selection is Saturday, Aug. 8. prior to the fair and no earlier. No campers can be spotted until after noon on Aug. 15 and must be removed by noon the following Sunday, Aug. 23.
All open class entries will be taken on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7 and 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the secretary’s office on the fairgrounds. The deadline for registering entries is 4 p.m. on Aug. 8.
