The final day of school for students and staff was announced for June 1.
During the meeting the board approved staff posting for the position of a summer OGT testing coordinator at a salary of $800; and the position of summer grounds keeper not to exceed 20 hours at a rate of $10 an hour.
A contract was approved with the Jefferson County Educational Service Center for access to the Virtual Learning Academy curriculum for the summer of 2010, and for the 2010-11 school year.
Also approved were updates on certain board policy issues, and the genetic information nondiscrimination Act of 2008 as required. The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, in the elementary library conference room.
