People got comfortable in lawn chairs, others on decks of boats lining the docking area, and others perched on the parking lot wall to listen to good gospel singing by Christian Davis and the trio, His Song. The Tuesday night Gospel on the River Concert in Pomeroy’s riverfront amphitheater was sponsored by the First Southern Baptist Church of Pomeroy. It is the church’s annual gift to the community. Davis opened the concert with several songs followed by southern gospel selections from His Song including “On the Way Up” which last year received a nomination for a Dove Award.
